Course content
|
Lectures: 1) Introduction to the subject, terms symptom, syndrome, disease, the concept of health 2) Structure of medical record, documentation of health care, legal provisions related to clinical practice 3) Objectives and structure of medical history, objective examination 4) General somatic examination (state of consciousness, position, mobility, etc.) 5) Examination of the head, neck, chest from the perspective of a pneumologist 6) Important symptoms of lung disease and mediastinum 7) Examination of the chest from the perspective of a cardiologist; examination of blood vessels; the most important symptoms and findings 8) Internal abdominal examination; most important symptoms and findings, liver examination 9) Symptoms and examination of locomotive organs (rheumatology); indicative neurological symptoms and examination 10) Investigation of nutritional status; meals and patients' regime; principles of differentiated care for patients 11) Principles of laboratory examination, indications, overview of methods 12) Overview of examination methods in internal medicine 13) Symptoms of acute diseases 14) Quality of life

Learning outcomes
|
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to enable students to understand basic medical terminology. Helping to understand medical evaluation, performing clinical examination methodology and clarifying the classification for a technically focused field of study.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
