Course content
|
Lectures: 1) Resuscitation in childhood 2) Pain management in children 3) Childbirth in PNP, treatment of the newborn, resuscitation of the newborn, cannulation, transport 4) Allergy, anaphylaxis diagnosis and treatment procedures 5) Disorders of consciousness, GCS, differential diagnosis of disorders of consciousness 6) Convulsions in PNP, acute symptomatic seizures, epilepsy, status epilepticus, 7) Trauma in children/except KCT/, diagnosis and treatment in PNP, burn injury, transport Exercises: 1) Primary (secondary, tertiary) health care, practical medicine for children and adolescents and a nurse in his office (professional prerequisites, education), taking a newborn into care, demonstration and work with the child's health and vaccination card 2) Development of a healthy child (the most significant developmental aspects of individual periods of childhood), demonstration and work with percentile graphs, Vlach's scheme, development of children's drawing, vaccination calendar, peculiarities of communication with children; Charter of the Rights of the Child 3) Nursing process in a physiological newborn after birth, Apgar score, signs of maturity, evaluation (physiological functions, skin color, reflexes, urination, pitch, vocal manifestations, state of consciousness, muscle tone) 4) Nursing process of a premature newborn; nursing process in a child with a congenital malformation; nursing process in a child with low birth weight 5) Nursing services in intensive care neonatology; hemotherapy in neonatology 6) Nursing process in children with non-specific intestinal inflammation, abdominal pain, celiac disease; individual diets, infant diet, sweat test; 7) Nursing process in children with diabetes mellitus (insulin, diet, exercise), demonstrations of aids, first aid for complications of this disease; nursing process in children with infectious diseases; regime measures, collection of biological material

Learning outcomes
|
The course introduces the development, health status and diseases of childhood. Emphasis is placed on the differences in the individual needs of children and how to satisfy them. It is focused on the pediatric patient with acute and chronic diseases, taking into account the peculiarities of individual developmental stages of childhood and adolescence. The content of the course is the nursing process for individual pediatric diseases also with a focus on urgent care.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
