Course content
|
Lectures: 1) Introduction to surgery (wound surgery, anesthesia, preoperative and postoperative care, inflammation in surgery and sepsis, acute and chronic bleeding, thrombosis and embolism, drainage and drainage systems, shock, nutrition of patients in surgery) 2) Thoracic surgery (pulmonary and mediastinum diseases, pneumothorax, pericardial puncture, drainage, rib fractures) 3) Surgery of esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, nonspecific intestinal inflammations, anorectum 4) Abdominal surgery, surgery of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and biliary tract) 5) Cardiosurgery, surgery on the valves, blood vessels; reconstruction procedures on coronary arteries; venous diseases: varicose veins, phlebothrombosis, thrombophlebitis; arterial disease: ICHDK, aneurysm, arterial reconstruction; amputation 6) Surgical diseases of mamma, thyroid and larynx Exercises: 1) Specifics of nursing care in patients in the treatment of wounds, acute and chronic bleeding, drainage, shock 2) Specifics of nursing care in a patient after lung surgery; Specifics of nursing care in a patient with pneumothorax 3) Specifics of nursing care in patients with diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine 4) Specifics of nursing care in patients with liver disease, acute pancreatitis, after cholecystectomy and after bile duct surgery) 5) Specifics of nursing care in patients after cardiac surgery; Specifics of nursing care in a patient with venous disease; Specifics of nursing care in patients with arterial disease 6) Specifics of nursing care in patients after breast, thyroid and laryngeal surgery

Learning outcomes
|
The subject Nursing Care in Surgical Fields 1-2 is conceived as theoretical-practical. It characterizes clinical conditions in surgical fields in terms of nursing care and needs of patients altered in connection with surgical diseases of respiratory, digestive and cardiovascular tract, kidneys and urinary tract, central nervous system, etc. focused on effective solutions of nursing problems of patients in abdominal and thoracic surgery, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, in the surgical fields of urology, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, transplantology and oncosurgery etc.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Didactic test
Classified credit: - 80% attendance at exercises, - passing the test.
