Lectures: 1) Skin, clinical morphology; current clinical condition of the skin; pathogenesis of skin disorders; standard diagnostic examination, procedures, tests; principles of skin diseases treatment; skin diseases parasitic, fungal, bacterial, viral; nevi, benign and malignant skin tumors; erythematopapulo-squamous diseases, bullous dermatitis, acne and facial dermatoses 2) Eczema and dermatitis, drug exanthemas; acute and urgent care in septic conditions in dermatovenerology; skin care specifics with skin integrity disorder; venereal diseases 3) Anatomy of the eye; pathogenesis of eye disorders 4) Standard diagnostic examination, tests; principles of eye diseases treatment 5) Urgent and follow-up care in patients with eye injury Exercises: 1) Specifics of approach to a patient diagnosed with scabies, syphilitis, gonorrhoea 2) Nursing process in a patient with acute dermatovenerological disease 3) Principles of communication in patients with visual impairment 4) Nursing process in patients with eye injury 5) Nursing process in a patient with glaucoma

The course Nursing Care in Selected Clinical Fields 1-2 is designed as a theoretical-practical unit. It extends medical knowledge from ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dentistry and dermatovenerology in relation to other clinical disciplines, and acquaints with the specifics of nursing care. It characterizes the clinical conditions in ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dentistry and dermatovenerology in terms of nursing care and the needs of patients altered in connection with the diseases addressed by these fields. It provides an overview of the specifics of nursing care in patients in ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dentistry and dermatovenerology, which is aimed at effectively solving nursing problems of patients within the aforementioned fields.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
