Course content
Lectures: 1) Introduction to Otorhinolaryngology; disease pathogenesis; diagnostic examination methods in ENT 2) Differences of treatment in diseases of auditory organs 3) Operations in ENT (nose, larynx, ear), endoscopy; problems of acute conditions and foreign bodies 4) Introduction to dentistry; disease pathogenesis; diagnostic examination methods in dentistry; differences in treatment in dentistry; developmental defects 5) Inflammatory and tumor diseases in the oral cavity; dental caries; problems of acute conditions in dentistry Exercises: 1) Urgent and follow-up care in acute conditions in otorhinolaryngology 2) Specifics of nursing care for patients with otorhinolaryngological disease 3) Urgent and follow-up care in acute conditions in dentistry 4) Nursing care in a patient with inflammatory processes in the oral cavity 5) Urgent and follow-up care in acute conditions in connection with traumas in the orofacial area in the competence of oral, maxillary and facial surgery

Learning outcomes
The course Nursing Care in Selected Clinical Fields 1-2 is designed as a theoretical-practical unit. It extends medical knowledge from ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dentistry and dermatovenerology in relation to other clinical disciplines, and acquaints with the specifics of nursing care. It characterizes the clinical conditions in ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dentistry and dermatovenerology in terms of nursing care and the needs of patients altered in connection with the diseases addressed by these fields. It provides an overview of the specifics of nursing care in patients in ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dentistry and dermatovenerology, which is aimed at effectively solving nursing problems of patients within the aforementioned fields.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Test

Classified credit: - 80% participation in exercises, - written test.
