Learning activities and teaching methods
Clinical practice under supervision
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the student to common medical instrumentation, demonstration of processing and evaluation of biosignals used in clinical practice, especially in cardiology. The student will receive an overview of the operation of diagnostic devices, the role of the biomedical technician in performing routine controls, handling the most common malfunctions, training of personnel to use the medical device. The practical training includes the handling of various patient monitoring systems, the maintenance of infusion equipment, the acquisition and evaluation of a surface ECG or specialized technical topics focused on cardiology.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Preconditions are frased in the annotation of the course and in the curriculum of the studying programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Practical demonstration of acquired skills

- 80% attendance in the exercises/lectures. - completion of given tasks - completion and presentation of exercise reports
