Course content
|
Origin and occurrence of elements on Earth and in space. Formation of minerals and rocks in nature, determining the age of rocks. Formation of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks and their minerals. Formation of minerals and their deposits by other natural processes. The most important deposits of ores and non-ore raw materials in the Czech Republic and in the world and their origin. During the exercises, students will get acquainted with the characteristic appearance and properties of the most important rocks and rock-forming minerals and their paragenesis. They will also get acquainted with the paragenesis of minerals from the most important or exceptional deposits of ores and non-ore raw materials from the Czech Republic and the world.
