Learning outcomes
Acquiring the basic skills needed in analytical chemistry. Students will learn the rules of good laboratory practice and the reliable implementation of volumetric and gravimetric determinations, paper and thin-layer chromatography.
To understand basics of instrumental analysis and results evaluation. To choose proper analytical method for analysis. To work practically and safely in chemistry lab. To explain and deduce basic knowledge on field, including simpler problem solving.
Prerequisites
knowledge of high school chemistry, passing Analytical chemistry
Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination
elaborated and defended protocols for every exercise Each laboratory is initiated by a short written test. Test will verify the knowledge of principles of current laboratory task. In the event of not sufficient knowledge necessary to perform laboratory exercises, student may be excluded from the laboratory.
