Course content

The course deals with the Czech literature development until the beginning of the WW I, with special attention to pre-war modernism. Key topics: Czech literature in the international context; new role of the literary criticism; realism, impressionism, symbolism and decadence; naturalism; new poetics; lyrism in the prose; Czech avant-guard.
