The course expands upon the knowledge of sentence-level syntax, introduces valency-intentional syntax, and covers fundamental concepts of text syntax. It builds upon assumed familiarity with basic and intermediate sentence dependency syntax typically taught in primary and secondary education. Lectures delve into key syntactic topics, addressing both text production and comprehension. They synthesize existing syntactic knowledge while extending beyond the scope of traditional dependency syntax. Seminars involve practical syntactic analysis of texts from various stylistic domains and creative syntactic exercises. Morphosyntactic text correction skills are integral to all analyses. Emphasis is placed on applying insights from sentence-level, valency-intentional, and text syntax in the interpretation, modification, and creation of texts. The didactic aspect is considered, with discussions on how these topics are presented in Czech language textbooks and taught in primary schools.
