Learning outcomes
|
The course takes into account the fluctuating initial language level of first semester students, ranging from B1 level (threshold B1, pre-intermediate B1 to intermediate B1) to the upper-intermediate B2 level. The course content is focused on the initial alignment of heterogeneous language skills in the level of listening with comprehension and written expression. In the listening part, students will learn about possible goals of listening with comprehension in relation to identifying the information (global, selective and total listening) and learning strategies for their self-study practice. Students will deepen and strengthen the ability to understand texts in formal language. They will be able to recognize basic information (global listening) in the text, produce what they have heard and later develop the topic based on semi-controlled tasks. The portfolio of current listening texts from Deutsche Welle website, also available as e-learning, can be used for listening comprehension. In the writing part, students will learn the principles of appropriate formulations and ways of argumentation when writing basic stylistic texts (protocol, message, description, exposition, narration). In their written delivery, students will be able to express themselves about selected topics in an appropriate lexical and grammatical manner. The subject is gramatically interrelated with Practical Language NJ1.
Language competence development in accordance with the curriculum of the accredited field.
