Course content
|
Students will learn the methods of working with text in the classroom and ways to developed reading literacy of pupils The seminars are mainly practical work with artistic and information texts. Topics: - Functional and reader literacy and support for its development. - Conditions for the development of reading literacy in schools. - International researches PIRLS and PISA. - Projects supporting the development of reading literacy. - Reading comprehension process. - Formulate questions and tasks that develop reading literacy on different types of texts. - Diagnostics and assessment of student reading literacy. Seminars: - Methods for developing reading skills and critical thinking (1 seminar) - Fundations of work with artistic texts (4 seminars) - Fundations of working with information texts (2 seminars)

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to make the students familiar with the concept of reading literacy, its classification and classification within the curriculum, with methods of working with text in teaching and ways of evaluating reading literacy of pupils.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment
Participation in the classes, presentation, semestral thesis. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
