Topics: Mergers and Acquisitions International Trade These core topics are systematically enhanced by contemporary areas that reflect the ongoing developments in the global economy and business environment. The selection of the additional topics is regularly reviewed and updated to align with the current economic context, the academic focus of the study program, and the practical professional needs.

Learning outcomes

- to develop and strengthen lexical and phraseological units of the general language - to develop basic language competence, mainly listening and text comprehension - to develop different forms of the spoken performance - discussions, presentations - to continue with systematic strengthening of the specific business vocabulary Students will acquire the threshold level of A2 as defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Upon the course completion, the student will have attained B2 (threshold) level language competencies according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This encompasses the ability to comprehend the main ideas of complex spoken and written texts, actively engage in discussions on familiar and specific topics, and independently master coherent written and oral communication.

Prerequisites
|
The student should have an entry-level language proficiency of B1+ (sub-threshold B2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which will enable to reach the target level of B2 by actively participating in the course over the semester.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

Credit awarded upon completion: - active participation in seminars, including engagement in discussions - preparation and in-class presentation of an assigned topic followed by discussion - continuous completion of assigned tasks (e.g., written assignments, case studies, professional texts), - independent work with e-learning materials, completion of tasks and activities - successful completion of the credit test (of at least 60%), which comprehensively assesses the achieved language proficiency and mastery of professional business-related vocabulary
