1.Theory of Economic Policy 1. Institutional environment of economic policy 2. Theoretical starting points of EP and economic-political concepts 3. EPcreation process and HP information 4. Subjects, tools and goals 5. Capabilities of EP 6. Expectations, time inconsistencies Goals and conceptual approaches to EP 7. Basic social goals 8. Economic objectives of economic policy and relations between internal goals 9. Context of the political and economic cycle 10. Conceptual Approaches to Economic Policy (Stabilization and Growth) Economic policy in the global environment 11. Relationship between the internal and external objectives of economic policy 12. EP's Alternative Goals (Institutional Quality Indicators) 13. EU economic policy, current strategy Typical model concepts of practical economic policy 14. Keynes' Economic Policy Interventionist Stop & Go Approach (UK x USA), New Economics, Indicative planning (France, Japan, the Netherlands), Swedish welfare state (Scandinavian model) 15. Concepts of the social-market economy and ordoliberalism (Germany), Market-conforming economic policy (Reaganomika, Thatcherism). Basic models of capitalism. State capitalism 16. - 20. Current problems and their possible solutions in practice (monetary policy, internal indebtedness, economic policy in times of world pandemic, etc.)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence, Individual consultation
  • Semestral paper - 40 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 15 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) - 9.5 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 31.5 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test - 24 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the theory and practice of economic policy in the broader framework of the functioning of the economic and political ties and connections. The main emphasis is on linking knowledge from bachelor programmes, mastering advanced terminology and substance of economic policy related to the practice of selected countries. Course Economic Policy II is designed as a compulsory course for students of the master's degree in Regional Studies. Optional course Economic Policy II is designed for students of master's degree all economic sectors by providing them with the necessary knowledge base for better managing mandatory and compulsory elective specialized courses.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite is knowledge of economic theory in extent of courses Macroeconomics I and Microeconomics I and Economic Policy I.

Combined examination

The course is finished by a combined exam.
