Course content
Lectures (topics): 1. The subject of macroeconomics, the development of mainstream economics. National economic indicators. 2. Theory of consumption and investment - a macroeconomic perspective. 3. Product-expenditure model: determination of equilibrium output, effective demand. Fiscal policy from the perspective of the model. 4. Money market: theory of money demand, money supply; monetary policy regimes. 5. Short-run equilibrium in a closed economy - the IS-LM model. Economic policy from the perspective of the model. 6. Open economy - exchange rate theory 7. Short-run equilibrium in an open economy - the IS-LM-BP model. Economic policy from the perspective of the model. 8. Labour market models. 9. Inflation and unemployment, AS function. 10. Model AD-AS: monetary policy rule (reaction curve CB), function AD 11. AD-AS model: macroeconomic equilibrium. Inflation and its solution 12. Long-term economic growth - selected theories Seminars: The seminars elaborate on individual topics from the lectures; students acquire and deepen their knowledge by interpreting macroeconomic contexts through concrete cases. Work with actual macroeconomic data.

Learning outcomes
The subject Macroeconomics II is shaped for engineer study programme. The course is focused on extending theoretical knowledge learnt at the bachelor course, at introducing the economic theories of most important macroeconomic schools, and at development of macroeconomic intellection.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Precondition: students have to pass succesfully courses of Macroeconomics I and/or Microeconomics I.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination

Zápočet: Prezenční studium: Získání součtu 18 bodů z pěti minitestů (10 bodů) a ze závěrečného testu (20 bodů). Studenti, kteří získali minimálně 15, mohou chybějící body získat napsáním opravného minitestu (5 bodů). Zkouška: Zkouška má kombinovanou formu, tj. písemnou část a následně ústní část v případě splnění požadavků části písemné (je nutné získat 65 %). Známka je kombinací výsledků obou částí - při neúspěchu je třeba opakovat obě části.
