Course content
1. Logistics as an integrated system - goals of logistics, explanation of basic concepts, logistics chain, division of logistics. 2. Basic methods and techniques for solving logistics problems (Pareto / ABC analysis). 3. Basics of designing material flows in the company (principles, methods and techniques - eg Spaghetti, VSM). 4. Warehouse management, inventory management. 5. International logistics, characteristics, creation of the European transport system 6. Logistics of export and import operations 7.Transport and transport-legal relations 8. International rail transport 9. International road transport 10. International air transport 11. International river transport 12. Sea transport 13. Multimodal transport 14. Lecture of an expert from the business Seminars (topics): Practical exercises based on the lectures and team work, processing of the case study: 1 Assignment of a case study 2. Basic methods and techniques for solving logistics problems. 3. Basics of designing material flows in the company 4. Warehouse management, inventory management. 5. Learning outcomes
The aim is to acquaint students with the theoretical assumptions and contexts of operations that accompany the implementation of international trade, especially in the field of logistics and international logistics, to provide an overview of the relevant current provisions legal norms in the Czech Republic and in the EU and to show in the form of processing a fictitious case how everything is reflected in business practice. The subject Accompanying Operations in International Trade and Customs follows on from the subject Operations in International Trade, it complements it with the view of third parties in international trade operations, eg shippers, carriers with which the parties come international purchase agreements.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
