Thematic areas: Whole-class (frontal) geography learning Inquiry-based geography learning Game-based learning and elements of gamification Field-based geography learning Conceptual geography learning Problem-based geography learning Project-based geography learning Different approaches to geography learning among teachers Thematic areas of seminars: Each seminar builds on the topics covered in the lectures. Seminars are designed as a space in which students, through group micro-teaching activities, practically try out and enact planned learning situations so that they align with the selected form of learning or a given approach. These micro-teaching activities and students' intentions are subsequently discussed and reflected upon during the seminars in the context of the lectures and the recommended literature.

The course is designed to deepen students´ understanging of teaching geography as well as to help them clarify their personal conceptions towards teaching geography. Throughout the course, students are introduced to various organizational forms of instruction, different conceptualizations, and specific methods suitable for teaching geography. Based on the theoretical lectures, students have ample opportunity within the seminars to present and discuss their own lesson plans.
