Learning outcomes
|
Students will understand the definition of political geography. Geographers are carriers of the political studies, they use techniques and spatial concepts (Burnett and Taylor, 1981, in: Johnston: Human Geography Dictionary). The subject is intent on development of knowledge in studied issues and theories (Hearland theory, change of frontiers, change of the capitals, regional conflicts, ethnic cleansing etc.). Student have to understand profoundly actual polical issues and ther spatial fearues (Middle East, Afganistan, Macedonia). Special attention deals with political spatial impacts in terms of EU and relation of EU with USA, Japan, Russia and China.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral presentation of self-study
Students prepare and interpret political-geographical theme which they present and discuss. They use English and German literature and understand and use geographical concepts and issues, and explain the issues with using geographical theories.
