Course content
Seminars (themes): 1. Theoretical introduction to media issues - overview of applications, introduction to the facilities of the classroom. 2. Common features of multimedia, polymedia, hypermedia, multimedia dimensions - software applications. 3. Design and design of multimedia products - supporting software procedures. 4. Multimedia - Interactive Elements. 5. Raster Graphics - Global Raster Graphics and Their Principles. 6. Vector Graphics - Global vector graphics editing and their principles. 7. Sound - characteristics, formats, historical development. 8. Sound - Acquisition and presentation technique. 9. Audio - DAW editors and sequencers, input and output formats. 10. Digital video - applications, codecs, practical examples of video work. 11. Digital Video - Acquisition Technology and Editing. 12. Animations and interactive elements. 13. Design of multimedia products and applications - determination of final project assignment. 14. Completion and presentation of a semester project.

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit are to acquaint students with the problems of preparation, processing and presentation of digital multimedia. Students will acquire the specifics and ways of using different types of multimedia and gain basic habits in working with software for their editting and creation. An integral part of the course is also economic assessment and commercial perspectives of multimedia technologies.

Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Credit requirements: 80% attendance at seminars, preparation of partial tasks during the semester, submission of semestral project focused on editing multimedia data.
