Course content
1. Principles for processing of a bachelor work at the TUL. Entering of a bachelor work, formal layout. 2. Rules for writing of an academic text. Principles of literature research. 3. Direct and indirect citations. Citation methods. Frequent mistakes in citations. 4. Structure of bibliographical records. Specifics of electronic documents. 5. Typographical rules. 6. Ethics of an academic work. Plagiarism. 7. Making presentation of a bachelor work.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Home preparation for classes - 14 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students with: - conventions for writing of a bachelor work, - structure of the bachelor work, - structure of specialized text, - citation rules, - bibliographical records, - typographical principles, - ethics of academic work.
Students get competences for writing of academic texts, seminar and bachelor works.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of writing of scientific text from the secondary school.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis

Active participation at seminars. Knowledge from seminars are used by students for processing of their bachelor work.
