Course content
Lectures (topics): 1. Trade, its roots and motives, concepts of internal, foreign and international trade. 2. Cross-border and national concept of international trade, GVA concept in the records of the MoD. 3. Selected international organizations, their connections and influence on international trade {WTO, UNCTAD}. 4. Theory of international trade. 5. History and present trade policy of the Czech Republic, common trade policy of the EU. 6. EU policies related to international trade. 7. Selected countries (USA, Japan, BRICS) in international trade. 8. Current account and its interpretation in international trade in goods. 9. Investments and investment incentives in international trade. 10. Internationalization theory in international trade. 11. Competitiveness and international trade. 12. Current development of international trade. Seminars (topics): 1. Assignment of a case study (semester project). 2. Flows of goods and services within the global exchange of goods. 3. WTO, UNCTAD and their current role in world trade. 4. Theory of international trade. 5. Common trade policy of the EU. 6. EU policies related to international trade. 7. Current account and its interpretation in international trade. 8. Investments and investment incentives in international trade. 9. Competitiveness and international trade. 10. -12. Presentation of case studies.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the problems of international trade, including its theoretical and historical context. Subject wants to explain the circumstances and patterns of international trade and trade policy positions in national economic policies, government groups and selected international organizations and to familiarize students with the impact of trade policy tools for businesses and their agencies. The subject also provides an overview of the conditions and possibilities of entering business in foreign markets and variants of international business.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Credit: Active participation in seminars, preparation of a case study. Exam: Combined exam - 2x written test and final oral examination
