Course content
Lectures (topics): 1. The importance of guide activities in tourism, basic terms. 2. Guide activity in the Czech Republic, legal regulation. 3. Guide activity in the international context, legal regulation in EU countries, aspects of the multicultural environment of the contemporary world. 4. Basic types of guide services. 5. Personality of the guide, social protocol of the guide. 6. Cooperation of the guide with groups of visitors (typology of visitors). 7. Guide activities during tours, cooperation of the guide with the travel agency, remuneration of guides, travel allowances. 8. Preparation of a tourist guide for a tour / stay, tour assignment, information and comparative information minimum and its processing. 9. Chronological preparation, topographic preparation, psychological preparation. Verbal and nonverbal communication. 10. Work agenda of the guide (manipulation with documents, money, obligations in various types of services, evaluation, billing). 11. Methodology of guide activities at castles, chateaux, technical monuments and other accessible monuments. 12. Quality of services and satisfaction of visitors in the context of guide activities. 13. Information and communication technologies in the activities of the guide. 14. Solution of model situations Seminars: Solving practical problems/case studies that thematically corresponds to individual lectures.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to prepare students for practical guide activities and their activities in the field of tourism focusing on travel agencies and tourism.
