Course content
Lectures (topics): 1. Introduction into quality management. 2. Development of the approaches to quality management. 3. Taguci Methods. 4. Statistical Methods in Quality Management. 5. Statistical control of the production process. 6. Statistical control of technological process. 7. Statistical Acceptance. 8. Economic aspects of quality. 9. Quality management tools - basic. 10. Quality management tools - progressive. 11. System of quality management on principle norms 9000. 12. Model of excellence, EFQM. 13. - 14. Quality management in company - case study, company tour. Seminars (topics): The content of the seminars is to familiarize students with the practical use of individual tools for quality assurance. Content is discussed in the form of examples and their solution according to the subject matter in the lectures. During the semester there is a presentation of seminar papers that are either a form of a paper on a selected topic related to quality management or a case study form in a particular company. During the course of the year, the quality expert will visit the workshop to learn how the systems and tools are applied in business.

Learning outcomes
To acquaint students with modern systems of quality management, with progressive tools of quality management including statistical methods, ISO norms focused on quality and with newest approaches to ensuring and increasing of complex quality level in the EU, CR and enterprises.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Credit: Active attendance at seminars (80 %). Case study defence. Exam: Written exam.
