Course content
Lectures: 1. Definingterms, theoretical approaches and models to džine the quality oft he business environment. 2. Business environment in the kontext of global, European, national and regional level. New forms of business aktivity. The examples of this selectes activity. 3. Regional evaluation of the quality of the business environment, preferences of entrepreneurial subjects. 4. Development of business environment driven by investmentpreferences. 5. Promoting the business environment - industrialzones, cluster initiatives, poles of excellence. 6. Development of a business environment based on the knowledge economy as a prioritized development trajectory oft he Czech Republic. 7. Determination of factors for the quality assessment of the business environment. 8. Characteristics of the group of factors - business, working, infrastructure, local, price, environmental. 9. Regional development strategy of the Czech Republic in the context of the EU. 10. Regional competitiveness measurement on examples from the Czech Republic. 11. Regional koncept of competitiveness, supportingtools. 12. Promoting competitiveness in the kontext of identified regional disparities. 13. Business environment in selected EU countries. 14. Regional disparities - an oportunity for developing a business environment. Complex assessment of the quality of the business environment Seminars: 1. Discussion on the kriteria for determining rating ranks for global agencies. 2. Analysis of selected criteria. 3. Comparison of weights of individual criteria. 4. Examples for a strategy for the development of the business environment in the Czech Republic. 5. Evaluation of selected strategies. 6. Analysis of factors of quality of the business environment. 7. Assessing the business environment in the successful EU countries. 8. Examples of regional disparities and proposals for their solution.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with possible influences of the business environment on the development ofeconomic subjects. The business environment interacts with a globalizing word economy and isallocated to specific regional dimensions that can be evaluated at thislevel and given to potential investors. A high-quality business environment and support for its development at regional, national and transnational levels can then create optimal conditions for the absorption of innovative business processes. Students will become acquainted with the possibilities and tools formeasuring the quality of the business environment.
Ability to identify possibilities and instruments for evaluation of business environment quality.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Credit: Passing the written test and succcessful project defense. Exam: Written testing knowledge examination (succes rate min. 60 %).
