Course content
Lectures (topics): 1. One-Dimensional Analysis (basic terms, types of data, frequency distributions, descriptive statistics). 2. Theory of Probability (basic terms, charakteristics, probability distributions). 3. Mathematical Statistics (Theory of Estimation, Hypothesis Tests). 4. Dependencies of categorical and numeric variables. 5. Regression Analysis. 6. Correlation Analysis. 7. Time Series Analysis (introduction, characteristics). 8. Trend Analysis. Forecasting. 9. Seasonal and irregular components of time series. Seminars (topics): 1. Basic statistical terms, basic work with the program IBM SPSS Statistics Base. 2. One-Dimensional Analysis - manual and computer processing. 3. Description and characteristics of random variables. Distribution of random variables. 4. Point and interval estimation. Hypothesis Tests. 5. Contingency. Analysis of Variance. 6. Regression Analysis. 7. Correlation Analysis. 8. Basic characteristics of time series. 9. Trend Analysis. Seasonal adjustment of time series.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces basic statistical tools and methods of data processing.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of MA1, computer skills.

Combined examination

Credit - written credit test min. 60 %. Exam - written exam min. 60 %.
