Course content
The subject explains electronic components and circuits with an emphasis to digital electronics, i.e. electric parameters and internal wiring of combinational and sequential logic elements, memory cells and microprocessors. A/D and D/A converters and peripheral circuits are introduced as parts of control computers. Before topics above, presentation of function of both bipolar and unipolar transistors and operational amplifiers are necessary.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation, briefing), Laboratory work
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The subject explains electronic components and circuits with an emphasis to digital electronics, i.e. electric parameters and internal wiring of combinational and sequential logic elements, memory cells and microprocessors. A/D and D/A converters and peripheral circuits are introduced as parts of control computers. Before topics above, presentation of function of both bipolar and unipolar transistors, operational amplifiers and their basic circuits are necessary. Electronic measurement, uncertainty evaluation and disturbance/noise issues are also covered.
Students will acquire the basic concepts and practice skills of the modern electronic functional blocks design.
Prerequisites
Condition of registration: knowledge in elementary analog circuits, knowledge of digital electronics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam
