Course content
1. Introductory information, course organization, student requirements, 2. Landscaping from the perspective of OsSSPaO 3. Green facades 4. Vertical gardens 5. Green roofs 6. Blue-green infrastructure 7. Water in the landscape and garden ? basic concepts, typologies, elements 8. Water ? retention, accumulation, regulation 9. Paved areas and pathways 10. Playgrounds, areas for outdoor activities and recreational sports 11. Landscaping, fencing, retaining walls, staircases, site preparation 12. Greenery ? root damage to structures, protection of greenery during construction 13. Specific topics related to student projects, topics of interest to students 14. Field trips, field exercises, student presentations

Learning outcomes
Lectures, seminars, and field trips introducing students to the issues of landscape creation and conservation, as well as the historical development of landscape and garden design; a brief overview of the compositional and technical prin-ciples of comprehensive outdoor design solutions with an emphasis on blue-green infrastructure, environmental pro-tection, sustainable development, and ecological awareness. Plus the irreplaceable nature of teamwork and interdisci-plinary collaboration. The KZI course builds upon the topics covered in KZT and is inextricably linked to the topics taught in the bachelor?s program in KZ1 and KZ2.
Knowledge Students: 1. Understands the basic legislation, standards, and protected zones related to outdoor landscaping and landscape design. 2. Understands the principles of blue-green infrastructure and its importance for environmental protection and sustainable development. 3. Is familiar with the historical development of landscape and garden design, including an overview of basic tree and shrub species. 4. Has mastered the compositional and technical principles of outdoor design, including specific typologies (green facades, roofs, vertical gardens). 5. Understands the principles of protecting greenery during construction activities and the impact of vegetation on buildings. Skills Students: 1. Designs outdoor landscaping in accordance with legislative and technical requirements. 2. Applies the principles of blue-green infrastructure to landscape and garden design solutions. 3. Addresses technical elements of outdoor landscaping (paved areas, pathways, playgrounds, water features, fen-cing, retaining walls) within the context of the overall project. 4. Identifies and prevents risks of vegetation damage to structures, proposes methods for protecting greenery during construction. 5. Coordinates the design of outdoor landscaping within the framework of team and interdisciplinary collaboration.
