The student should demonstrate the ability to think theoretically about a selected problem, based on his/her interpretation of texts by architects, artists or theorists who have expressed themselves on the given problem. Requirements for the student: During a ten-minute presentation, the student will explain a problem that he/she has chosen independently, by first interpreting selected texts by other authors on the given topic (i.e. being able to place them in a broader context, explain their argumentation, compare them with each other, etc.) and then taking his/her own position on the given problem. The second part of the exam consists of a discussion of the chosen topic, or answering questions regarding architects and architectural works related to the topic. The student is assessed primarily on the basis of his/her verbal expression. The assessment also takes into account the content and linguistic complexity of the interpreted texts. It is also necessary to submit a written essay on the topic at least one week before the exam date, as well as a structured CV and a list of ten monographs read about architects or artists, architectural or artistic movements or theories. The student must consult the chosen topic and the professional literature used with the KDA teachers in advance, but his active approach to searching for sources is a prerequisite. The scope of the submitted essay: 16,500 - 20,000 characters (including spaces). An image attachment must be added to the text.
