Course content

Procedure for solving structures using SCIA ENGINEER software on PC 14. Revision of study and consultations

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to expand and supplement the teaching of the basic compulsory courses Statics of Building Structures 1 and Statics of Building Structures 2 with additional contexts and to familiarize students with the applications of theory in the preliminary design of various types of load-bearing structures of buildings. In the second half of the semester, students will be introduced to the theoretical foundations of solving load-bearing structures using computational software on a computer.
1. Student is able to connect knowledge of statics with architectural design at the level of preliminary design considerations. 2. Student iable to use computational tools for qualified decision-making on the type, proportions and behavior of load-bearing structures. 3. Student has the skill to communicate effectively with specialists in the field of statics and computational modeling. 4. Student is independent in analyzing the assigned design task and in choosing the appropriate computational approach.
