Course content
1. Work safety in a chemical laboratory, acquaintance with tasks. 2. Preparation of ethyl formate. 3. Evidence reactions of alcohols and aldehydes. 4. Preparation of acetanilide. 5. Preparation of p-nitroacetanilide. 6. Preparation of p-nitroaniline. 7. Preparation of 1,2,3,4,6-penta-O-acetyl-alpha-D-glucopyranose. 8. Preparation of orange II and dyeing of fabric. 9. Isolation of caffeine from tea. 10. Preparation of fluorescein and glyptal resin. 11. Thin layer chromatography. 12. Preparation of benzoic acid. 13. Preparation of p-bromoacetanilide. 14. Summary of laboratories and final test.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to acquaint students with the basics of work in the organic laboratory - assembly of apparatus, single- and multistage synthesis, isolation and purification of products.
Understanding the practical implementation of conversions of organic compounds.
Prerequisites
knowledge of high school chemistry

Assessment methods and criteria
Written assignment, Test

Completion of practical exercises, defense of processed protocols. Evaluation of all parts of laboratories - products, protocols and final test.
