Course content
Heat and temperature. Thermal expansion. State parameters of gas, equation of state. Atomic physics: atom, molecule, molar mass, number of moles. Molecular interaction. Kinetic theory of ideal gas. Equipartition theorem and internal energy. Specific and molar heat capacity. Maxwell's distribution of velocities in ideal gas. Van der Waals' equation. Phase transitions. Air humidity and atmosphere properties. Fundamentals of calorimetry. Heat conduction. Convection, conduction and radiation. Internal friction in gas. Thermodynamic system. State parameters. First law of thermodynamics. Reversible and irreversible changes. Second law of thermodynamics. Carnot's cycle and thermal machines. Statistical physics: Entropy, thermodynamic temperature. Statistical interpretation of 2nd and 3rd law of thermodynamics.

The microscopic composition of the matter, the molecular kinetic theory and the basic thermodynamic.
Basic knowledge of thermodynamics.
Prerequisites
Passed exam from subject Mechanics.

Oral exam, Written exam

Examination is in written form, a knowledge of problems solved and of lectured topics is required. Distant education - Lectures are on-line in Google Meet, tests for exam partly on-line in written form (elearning.fp.tul.cz) and partly in oral form.
