The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive theoretical foundation concerning the relationships between the structure of nonwoven textiles and their resulting properties. The course primarily focuses on the analysis of the influence of fiber arrangement, planar and three-dimensional structure, and surface characteristics on the mechanical, physical, and functional properties of nonwoven textiles. The acquired knowledge is essential not only for the development and optimization of new products but also significantly contributes to the design and innovation of methods for their evaluation and testing. The course content is systematically structured into seven thematic chapters covering both fundamental and advanced aspects of nonwoven textile theory.
Upon completion of the course Theory of Nonwoven Textiles, the student will be able to: Analyze the relationships between the structure of nonwoven textiles and their mechanical, physical, and functional properties. Identify the influence of fiber arrangement, bonding types, planar and three-dimensional structure, and surface characteristics on the behavior of nonwoven textiles. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in the design and optimization of new nonwoven materials and products. Design and evaluate appropriate methods for testing and assessing the properties of nonwoven textiles. Navigate advanced aspects of nonwoven textile theory and utilize them in solving practical problems in the field of nonwoven textiles.
