Course content
LECTURES(Fields): 1. Requirements on business processes and logistics - design to Logistics. 2. Methods and techniques for solving logistical problems - division, comparison, fields of application. 3. Principles of material flow design in a company, production design according to logistics. 4. Stock optimisation, stock holding. 5. Production monitoring - automatic identification systems, systems for data collection. 6. Logistics information systems - systems ERP and APS, principles, methods, information system modules. 7. Computer simulation in production management. 8. Logistical controlling. EXERCISES: 1/ Case studies - methods and techniques for solving logistical problems: - Stock optimisation, stock holding. - Utilization of Kanban method. - Analysis and improvement of material and information flow. 2/ Information system AROP - presentation, individual work. 3/ Job shop shedulling. 4/ Semester work - case study.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting )

  • Preparation for credit - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 34 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with the basics of logistics which has the significant role in managing production and trade organisations. The goal is the explanation of the basics concepts, and methods and techniques used for logistics problems. Presentation of computer aided systems and realised case studies.
Students gain the basic theoretical knowledge from the field of the enterprise logistics.
Prerequisites
To complete this course is not necessary to complete any other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination

CREDIT: Necessary condition for credit acceptance is elaboration of semester work EXAMINATION: Written and oral examination. Discussion on semester work results.
