Course content
1. Introduction to the law - a short historical incursion into the history of the building law and the law for performance of a profession; constitutional prerequisites and the conditions for performing a profession and activities with a special legal regimen (expecially in connection with construction) 2. General knowledge of laws concerning construction (zoning and planning, and the Construction Code) in broader legal and substantive context 3. The Construction act and the implementing regulations I - the Construction Act, the by-law on land-use planning source materials and land-use planning documentation; the by-law on the general requirements for the use of land 4. The Cosntruction Act and the implementing regulations II - the by-law on the land-use procedure; the by-law on the Construction Code 5. The Construction Act and the implementing regulations III - the by-law on the documentation of structures; the by-law on authorised inspectors; the by-law on general technical requirements for structures and the by-law on the use of structures by persons with a limited possibility of movement and sense of orientation 6. The Construction Act and the implementing regulations IV - the by-law on the general technical requirements for structures and the by-law on the use of structures by persons with a limited possibility of movement and sense of orientation; the by-laws on the technical requirements related to special legal regulations 7. The Code of Administrative Procedure and the public administration system I - the Code of Administrative Procedure 8. Learning outcomes
The teaching of law related to the profession of an architect / urban planner includes a detailed interpretation of public law, namely building law regulations (Building Act, implementing decrees), and a general interpretation of a wide range of related public law legislation (health care, care for natural and landscape wealth, care for cultural wealth, information and information systems, transport infrastructure and technical, fire protection, work safety and technical equipment, technical standardization, metrology and state testing, code of administrative procedures and misdemeanour and criminal law).

The explanations are concentrated on the standards of professional performance and the standards of professional documentation for the basic disciplines of the work of an architect/rubanist (zoning and planning, designing structures, interiors, gardening and landscaping architecture) and on the mode of the actual performance of his/her activities (office and project management). The course includes preparation of a draft contract on preparation, negotiation and implementation of a construction design, or possibly a contract on preparation and negotiation of zoning and planning documents. This requires general knowledge of the profession, which is the content of the curriculum in the designing studios. Examination requirements: The examination is taken in writing; if there are doubts, it is supplemented with an oral examination. The knowledge of the public law concerning construction, proved in application in a specific substantive and legal situation (a business case) and evidence of related general knowledge of the broader legal background concerning the public law in relation to the building law.
