The content of the course is a deeper study of selected topics with regard to the student's specialization. A general overview of possible topics: (a) Reciprocating internal combustion engines - Initiation of combustion of the fuel mixture, theoretical basis of chemical kinetics and its applications. - The combustion process, flame propagation and temperature in the combustion chamber, individual combustion phases and their mathematical modelling. - Mechanisms of exhaust pollutant formation. - Experimental investigation of the combustion process in the cylinder of an internal combustion engine. - Mathematical modelling of the working cycle of a reciprocating internal combustion engine. (b) Electric drives - Mathematical modelling of electric drives for traction applications. - Control algorithms for traction drives in multi-axis application, torque vectoring. - Experimental methods for investigation of selected electromechanical parameters of traction drives.
