Course content
Lectures: 1. Scientific communication (book, paper, conference contribution etc.) 2. Bibliographic and other databases, searching for information on the nternet, grey literature and open access 3. The quality of information resources, bibliometry, methods of scientific work 4. How to write and cite resources 5. Copyright and licensing 6. Online syndication (RSS, Atom - feeds) 7. Presentation skills Course work is accompanied with a bibliographic manager (e.g. Zotero). Excursion to The Univerity Library and to The Research Library Liberec

Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Group consultation

Learning outcomes
University subject called "Work with information Sources" will provide the students with general information and guidelines on how to orient themselves in information institutions, what kind of services are available, from what funds and under what conditions these institutions can offer their services in the Czech Republic. This subject will present the funds and services available at the University Library of TUL. Moreover, it will make the students familiar with knowledge enabling them to improve their research skills in seeking, the relevant sources for their needs, both in the traditional and electronic resources, by using various search techniques, and to easily explore their continuously increasing numbers and types, suitably process these resources and to present them and make their citation correctly.

Requirements for getting a credit are activity at the practicals /seminars and successful passing the tests. Examination is of the written and oral forms.
