Course content
Course Schedule (Part-time Program): Session 1: An overview of Units 1.1 - 1.5 Session 2: An overview of Units 2.1 - 2.5

Learning activities and teaching methods
Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Practicum, E-learning
  • Preparation for credit - 32 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
This course prepares students for the language exam in the summer semester. At that exam, students demonstrate, in the form of an exam, that they have reached CEFR B2 level language competence: They can understand the main ideas of complex presentations on abstract topics, have a wide vocabulary, can use monolingual dictionaries effectively; in terms of productive skills, they can express themselves flexibly, effectively and in detail about a wide range of topics. In addition, they can read, use and critically asses academic texts written in English.
Level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference, ability to use academic texts.

A2 to B1 level of English

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Written assignment, Test

The successful completion of the course requires obtaining 70 per cent of the final test, which will cover units 1+2. Those who fail but manage to achieve 50 per cent, can re-sit the test.
