Course content
Day students have full complement of fourteen lessons. Combined study students have approximately eight hours, Individual teachers can choose which of the following lessons to use in the class. The remainder must be completed at home by the students. Teachers use New English File Intermediate or Navigate B1 as core course textbook Core grammar covered Week 1 first conditional Week 2 second conditional Week 3 mixed conditionals week 4 quantifiers Week 5 articles Week 6 gerunds and infinitives Week 7 mid term test Week 8 reported speech Week 9 passive Week 10 relative clauses Week 11 question tags Week 12 phrasal verbs Week 13 revision Week 14 test Week 14 final test

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop language competences by studying a balanced mix of the four language skills (Speaking, Listening, Reading & Writing) and the four language systems (Grammar, Vocabulary, Functions & Pronunciation) with a strong emphasis on practical, every day communication.
Improvement of the so called Four Skills and movement towards B2 level
Prerequisites
B1 level of English. The same applies to combined study students.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Essay, Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Interview, Test

Full attendance required. Two absences allowed. Students must write to respective teacher if they will be absent. Combined studies students have approximately 4 lessons. Only one absence is allowed Method of assessment is at the discretion of the individual teacher Pass mark is 70%
