Learning outcomes
The aim of the Practical language component is to introduce topics directly related to students' own experience and, through discussions and a variety of other methodologies, increase conversational fluency and listening skills. The course also focuses on building students' vocabulary, basic reading skills, i.e. skimming, scanning, detailed reading, and on consolidation of the students' knowledge of the English grammatical system they learned at secondary schools. The core textbook is FCE Gold B2 First.
English on the fully acquired B2+ level.
Prerequisites
English on threshold B2+ level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Test

Generally: Active participation in lessons, homework, written test and an oral exam. - 3 absences are possible - Active participation is expected in seminars, plus, fulfilled tasks from the CAE Workbook - A 15-min. presentation on any grammar topic from the CAE Student´s book (from the content) - Prepared handout/activity for classmates concerning the particular grammar topic for practicing on site - Written test at the end of the semester, 70% is a treshold - Retake is possible - If a students passes the test, he/she may sit for the oral exam - The final grade is composed of the average of two parts: the test, and ortal exam
