Week 4: Housing vocabulary. Pronunciation: sentence stress 2. Week 5: Practical English: functional language. Week 6: Unit 8A: Sell and tell. Reported speech. Week 7: Mid-term test. Shopping vocabulary. Pronunciation: the letters "ai". Week 8: Unit 8B: What´s the right job for you? Gerunds / infinitives. Week 9: Work vocabulary. Pronunciation: word stress Week 10: Revise and Check: Units 7 - 8. Week 11: Unit 9A: Lucky encounters. 3rd conditional. Making adjectives and adverbs. Pronunciation: sentence stress 3. Week 12: Unit 9B: Too much information. Quantifiers. Phrasal verbs. Week 13: Pronunciation: "ough", "augh". Speaking practice -preparation for exam. Week 14: Credit test. The extent of the face-to-face instruction: 8 lessons/semester

CA6K and CA6P General objectives: 1. to improve students knowledge of English language systems: grammar, vocabulary, phonology and discourse 2. to improve students English language skills: both productive ( speaking and writing) and receptive ( listening and reading.) Course objectives: 1. at the end of the course students should be medium B2 level on the common European framework 2. consolidate production skills and consolidate receptive skills Specific skills objectives: at the end of the course students should be able to 1. write an essay or report, passing on information or giving reasons in support or against a particular point of view 2. take an active part in discussion in familiar contexts, accounting and sustaining views 3. understand the majority of films in standard dialect 4. understand contemporary written prose
Students are independent users of the English language at the fully developed B2 level.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written assignment, Test
The students are obliged to actively participate in the seminars (3 absences are allowed), regularly work with the textbook, elaborate a short seminar paper and be properly prepared for the seminars. They must achieve at least 70% of total points in the credit test. Oral exam focuses on testing the students' speaking skills corresponding with the B2 level according to the CEFR
