Předmět se zaměřuje na zkoumání hranic různých hierarchických úrovní optikou kulturní geografie a také na problematiku hranic kulturních. Studenti budou na cvičeních diskutovat nad rozdíly mezi koncepty borders a boundaries, identitami, symbolikami, narativy, kulturní politikou, přeshraničními a globalizačními vlivy a dalšími kulturními fenomény s důrazem na prostor.
