Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the area of Anglophone Studies on the one hand, and to the study at the Faculty in general, making them aware of the necessity of their own active participation in the teaching process. Students will acquire strategies leading to the improvement of language competences and appropriate methods and techniques for managing and planning their own studies. The course program also emphasizes the development of critical reading skills, which will enable students to understand, analyze, reproduce and evaluate various types of texts.
Students should acquire the ability to plan their studies effectively. They should be able to distinguish between effective and ineffective study methods and approaches. They will be able to apply the methods of 'spacing' and 'interleaving' for deeper understanding and more flexible use of knowledge. Students should also be able to use proven techniques for effective preparation for exams and tests and to retain acquired knowledge over the long term. Finally, students will learn, at a basic level, to analyze, critically evaluate, and interpret different types of texts.
