Course content
1. Influence of soil on vegetation. 2. Effect of heat, light and water on vegetation. 3. Introduction to forest vegetation. 4. Wetland alder and floodplain forests. 5. Oak forests and scree forests. 6. Beech trees. 7. Doubravy. 8. Comparison of deciduous and coniferous forests; dry pines. 9. Spruce forests, peat forests. 10. Introduction to non-forest vegetation; grass communities ? mesophilic meadows, mountain meadows, pastures, alluvial meadows. 11. Grass communities ? wet meadows, sedge meadows. 12. Wetlands. 13. Alpine forestlessness; springs and bogs. 14. Ruderal and segetal vegetation.

Learning outcomes
The subject will focus on the demonstration of important species in individual biotopes important for nature conservation. Lectures and exercises will deepen students' knowledge acquired in the subject Basics of plant systematics for OPŽP. Introductory lectures introduce students to individual environmental factors that affect vegetation. These relationships will then be explained using examples in individual biotopes. The exercises will take place in the field, where students will focus on getting to know plants in individual biotopes.

Combined examination, Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Continuous assessment of students during exercises and lectures. Credit - learning about living plants. Exam - written and oral.
