Course content
1. What is a forest and where is it located. 2. What is a forest and who deals with it. 3. The legal framework of forestry, especially in the Czech Republic. 4. Forest as an ecosystem - non-productive functions of forest. 5. Forest and nature protection. 6. Forest dendrology I. 7. Forestry dendrology II. 8. Forest categorization and Forest typology. 9. Forest planning. 10. Forest management - historical context. 11. Forest management - forest restoration and cultivation. 12. Forest management - harvesting and transport. 13. Forest management - protection against harmful agents. 14. Forestry and overlap with other disciplines - timber, hunting, etc.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issues of forestry from various aspects, the definition of the forest ecosystem, forest management and the overlap with other disciplines.
