Origin, development and occurrence of minerals in nature, paragenesis, rock-forming minerals. Systematic overview of the most important minerals, their properties, significance and occurrence. The most important minerals and mineralogical localities in the Czech Republic. During the exercises, students will get acquainted with the appearance and properties of the most important minerals and their macroscopic determination. They will also learn to use a polarizing microscope and other basic procedures for the identification of minerals.
