Course content
Key topics: Essential skills in public speaking as well as at the knowledge of rhetorics, communicative strategies. Czech orthoepy vs. articulation problems and faults. Training in Czech orthography. Relations of standard and non-standard forms of Czech. Problems of language codification. Current situation of Czech; national language strata; definition of a (literary) standard. Students´ speeches and papers will be analyzed and evaluated. Special attention will be paid to scholarly writing.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
