Course content
The basic topics of the seminar are the grammar of standard Czech, training in Czech orthography and in linguistic terminology, the scholarly speech and writing including the bibliographic and quotation standards. Also, work with linguistic literature, Czech linguistic journals & periodicals as well as with the Czech National Corpus is stressed.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester

Secondary school knowledge of use and system of the Czech language

Student's performance analysis

active in-class participation, home assignments, paper presentation successful completion of tests, incl. credit test further requirements will be specified in the syllabi and/or on the department web page at the beginning of the semester
