Course content
The course deals with the lexis of Czech and with the analysis of lexical units as well as with the word formation. Key topics: Form and semantics of lexical units; theory of apellation; evolution of the lexis of Czech; Czech lexis in the viewpoint of style; Czech phraseology; major lexicons of Czech.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)

Written exam

active in-class participation, home assignments, paper presentation Exam: written test which should show knowledge of basic literature and curriculum and the ability of applying them in practical tasks. further requirements will be specified in the syllabi and/or on the department web page at the beginning of the semester
