Learning outcomes

How has the position and perception of literature in digital/multimedia culture changed? What are the chances of literature to succeed in this competition? Why is literature also a medium? Why should be this topic of interest to bohemists? How does a literary text communicate with other forms of art? How is a literary work transformed into a video performance and a theatrical performance? Using examples of media products from Czech and foreign culture, we will try to answer these questions and learn the basic categories of intermedia thinking. We will consider the use of this knowledge in further educational and cultural practice.
Students will recognize intermedia phenomena and understand the relationships between them. They will master the terminology of literary and intermedia poetics and be able to apply it analytically. They will lay the groundwork for applying this knowledge in their future studies, in other disciplines, and in multimedia education as part of their future teaching practice.
