Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the history of Western thought through the history of philosophy. It covers the time range from ancient Greece to important concepts of the 19th century. Due to such a large scale, it is a presentation of basic concepts of thought in the form of popular lectures. The student will get an idea of the fundamental questions that people in the West have asked themselves throughout history and how they answered them. The seminars that follow each lecture are based on reading and interpreting the texts of selected thinkers, where it is possible to see the presented problem in contexts.
